L'Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review

As someone with undeniably bad skin, I struggle to find high coverage foundations that'll conceal my scars and blemishes without, simultaneously, breaking the bank. I've used some fantastic full coverage foundations in the past, all of which have been from more expensive brands, and I've found it difficult to find a drugstore alternative that can compete with luxury foundations...until now.
I introduce to you the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Foundation, a new launch that has sent me into a frenzy because IT REALLY IS TOTAL COVERAGE! Many drugstore foundations advertise themselves as high coverage and claim to cover spots the size of planets but its rare that they actually do what they say on the tin. This product, on the other hand, is true to its word and is not trying to fool you by claiming to be total coverage.
I have always had a good relationship with L'Oreal foundations, and just their brand as a whole, as they never let me down. Their products are consistent in quality, originality and affordability and this latest release doesn't stray from the trend.
After seeing the Total Cover Foundation advertised across every social media platform, I was keen to give it a try. I've tried some rather shoddy foundations in the past, therefore, my mentality is that nothing can ever be as bad as anything I've previously used. I do have high expectations of L'Oreal but, in this instance, I was right to as I'm thoroughly impressed with this foundation.

The main two features I long for in a foundation are 1) high coverage that will conceal all of my redness and 2) longevity - if it only looks good for an hour before you leave the house, what's the point? This has both though. I apply it with a foundation brush then proceed to blend it out with a Beauty Blender. I find using a sponge is the best method as a brush can leave streak marks and doesn't always allow the foundation to showcase its full potential in terms of coverage, whereas a Beauty Blender really pushes the product over your skin and packs it on nicely for a flawless finish.
I find one layer of this foundation is adequate enough, however, two layers will conceal over pesky spots that just want to steal the limelight, gives the perfect look. The finish is matte, another thing I look for in a good foundation, and, once its on, this guy isn't budging. I apply powder, and usually a setting spray post foundation blending, and then I'm set for the day and don't need to worry about looking like a buttery mess whilst I'm out, which makes this foundation perfect for school or college. L'Oreal claim that this lasts for twenty four hours and, while I wouldn't want to be wearing make-up for that length of time, I can imagine that it probably does stay put for 24hrs.

Despite being matte and full coverage, this foundation feels incredibly lightweight and not at all cakey on the skin. In fact, you do not feel as though you're even wearing any. The formula seems rather interesting as, when pumped out, it has a mouse like texture to it as oppose to the traditional liquid style foundation. That doesn't prevent it from being easily blendable, though, and it doesn't feel yucky on your skin.

This foundation retails at under £10.00, which just seems ridiculous for how high quality it is. Its easy to get your hands on in your local drugstore, too. The only tip I would give you is to ensure you moisturise considerably prior to applying this foundation as it makes it go on a hell of a lot smoother and just generally makes the whole foundation blending experience a lot more enjoyable. Other than that, this foundation is one hundred percent deserving of all the positive feedback it has received and I'd recommend it to anyone, whether you want something to cover tattoos, a long lasting foundation or just something that looks jolly amazing, this ought to be your next beauty purchase.

What are your favourite foundations at the moment? <3

Love, Emily :) xx

  1. This foundation looks amazing! You've definitely persuaded me to purchase this. I'm currently using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation and it's heavenly!

    1. It really is amazing. I was sceptical as I was like "But is it REALLY as good as the reviews are saying?" But honestly, its working so well. I'm currently switching between this and the Estee Lauder Double Wear - which is also INCREDIBLE! I want to try the CT foundation so badly! I've only ever tried her lipsticks but I love those!
      Thanks for reading, m'love! Xx
