The Best Summer Mascaras

I don't know about you, but I feel as though my make-up is never complete until I have mascara on. It may be my least favourite product to apply as it's fiddly and usually ends up on my nose, however, it ties everything together and makes me look a little less facially naked.
In this post, I am sharing with you my favourite mascaras for Summer 2016 as I know buying mascaras can be a pain and want to make your life a little easier. Usually, I buy a mascara after seeing people use and praise it online. They aren't like lipsticks or eyeshadows, which you can swatch in store and decide if you like it before paying for it and certainly aren't as fun to buy. You have to just go for the one with the prettiest packaging really. You also kind of just have to take a chance and, if you like it, great, if not, it couldn't have been helped and it'll have to be shoved to the back of your make-up collection.
I hope you find this post helpful and perhaps it will give you an idea of which mascara you need to pick up next time you go make-up shopping!

L'Oreal Miss Hippie Mega Volume Mascara
This seems to have been all over my Instagram feed at the moment and, I'm not usually one to give in to sponsored posts, however, this mascara really is as great as everyone is making it out to be. Having never tried L'Oreal mascaras previously, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised and I now reach for it most days. The brush is thick and I would say the only con is that it isn't very long, making it difficult to do your second eye. Although, it really does give my lashes "mega volume," as well as making them extra black, also, you could probably get away with just one coat. This mascara is also easy to remove, which is rare to find with such a good product. If you're going to purchase one mascara from this post, I would say it ought to be this one!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara
Another popular mascara on the interwebs, however, it is worth the hype. The curved brush lifts each lash and allows me to get right into the corners of my eyes. This mascara is also waterproof and so you don't need to worry about it budging or sweating off of your face during the Summer months. One thing this mascara is particularly good at is separating my lashes, which helps my eyes look more awake, without clumping. The only downside of such a sensational (pardon the pun) mascara is that it can be rather stubborn when it comes to removing it. It can require a bit of scrubbing but I guess that's the price you have to pay for lovely lashes!

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
I got on very well with the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara and so had high hopes for this one too, especially after hearing such positive reviews on it. At a glance, it really doesn't look like anything special, average packaging and the brush is pretty standard too, however, don't be fooled. It is a hidden gem which, if you're lucky enough to seek out from the hundreds of products in a beauty store, you're sure to love. It gives quite a similar finish to the Miss Hippie Mascara as it gives my eyelashes volume and length, as well as lasting all day. I would highly recommend it!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
This is relatively old as mascaras go, which is a pro as it means this mascara isn't too expensive, this one being £4.99. However, I would still recommend giving it a go. There are a variety of versions of this product which all aim to do different things, such as blacken or be waterproof. I actually like to use this one on my bottom lashes, actually, I would say it is perfect for bottom lashes! The brush is tiny and so allows you to get right into the corners of your eyes, as well as lengthen and separate your bottom lashes without spoiling any of your make-up or making life tricky. If you're considering splashing out on something such as the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, I would say why not give this a go first? It can be used on the top lashes if you're after a really subtle, natural look, although I find it doesn't really provide much volume.

I hope you found those recommendations beneficial! They're all available at reasonable prices from the drugstore and so show you don't need to break the bank to get fabulous looking lashes!

What are your favourite mascaras at the moment? <3

Love, Emily :) xx
